The new £16m Harvey Hadden Sports Village opened on 1 September with the only 50m pool in Nottingham to offer public swimming every day. The redevelopment is the largest investment of Nottingham City Council's Leisure transformation Programme.  

It includes £1.94m from Sport England's Iconic Facilities Fund, with additional funding totalling £480,000 from England Athletics,The Football AssociationEngland Squash and RacketballBritish Cycling, Notts Athletics Club and Table Tennis England , secured as part of the bidding process. A further £100,000 contribution from Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd (Wren) has funded further improvements to the Athletics Stadium.
