A supported programme for women from your couch to the Great Notts Bike Ride

March 22, 2018

Breeze is British Cycling’s biggest campaign to get women on bicycles, and this year in Nottingham we’re looking for women who do not currently take part in physical activity but have the guts to tackle the Great Notts Bike Ride!

Devised by the amazing local team of Breeze volunteer Champions, we are running a 10 week supported programme which will build up in a manageable, structured way to prepare for the iconic cycle event on 24 June.

Sessions will take place weekly from and around Trent Embankment on Saturdays from 14 April. As well as the weekly formal sessions, participants need to be prepared to undertake shorter practice rides during the week, however, there is plenty of opportunity to join the numerous free Breeze rides planned by local ride leaders within the area, or join the fantastic mixed guided rides offered by the British Cycling LetsRide scheme.

Breeze rides are fun and friendly, and no one ever gets left behind. Frightened to Fearless is designed to be suitable for beginners and those returning to cycling. We may be able to source loan bikes for the duration of the programme so lack of a bicycle should not be a barrier to applying. We are particularly keen to hear from participants who live within the Nottingham City local authority boundary. The training programme, excluding entry fees to the Great Notts Bike ride, is free  but we are asking participants to make a commitment to complete the full 10 weeks if they are accepted.

Places are limited so to apply for a place, please visit: https://goo.gl/forms/jS0iW2jXzeNlHRV52
